Life Book | Review the year with grounded facts
BaZi calculation method, public tests and version log
XinAn separates reproducible chart facts from paid cultural interpretation. This page publishes the current engine, edge cases, verification results, review ownership and changes—along with the work that is not yet complete.
The short answer
The Web facts layer uses lunar-javascript 1.7.7 and calculates pillars from entered local civil time with solar-term boundaries. An unknown birth time omits the hour pillar. The free layer does not infer chart strength, useful elements or life outcomes.
Calculation rules
- Input uses the Gregorian date and local civil birth time; year and month pillars follow solar-term boundaries rather than Lunar New Year
- Day and hour rules are locked to the tested engine; 23:00 late-Zi is a published edge case
- An unknown hour returns three pillars and is never silently replaced with noon
- Element counts include stems, branches and hidden stems; a count is not a judgement of chart strength or useful elements
- The free layer does not infer personality, money, health, relationships or events; the private 13-chapter interpretation remains paid

Review ownership
XinAn's deterministic-calculation maintenance group owns dependency locks, test vectors, three-language fact parity and free/paid boundaries. The editorial review group owns terminology, sourcing, non-fear language and no-outcome promises.
No externally named metaphysics adviser has yet completed a publishable review of the whole engine. XinAn therefore does not invent a 'master reviewed' badge. When an external reviewer is engaged, we will publish their name, credentials, scope and date.
Version log
- 1.0.0 (2026-08-29): locked lunar-javascript 1.7.7; added eight cross-platform comparison vectors and the 13-chapter data contract
- Web facts 1.0 (2026-09-18): added a no-sign-in zodiac calculator and free pillars, Day Master and element facts; the paid interpretation boundary did not change
- A new version will be issued only when solar-term, day-boundary, historical-time-zone or solar-time rules change, with new vectors—not for copy edits
Known limits
- The basic Web chart uses the entered local civil time and does not automatically apply historical daylight-saving or true solar time
- Ambiguous places, historical offsets and solar time require confirmation in the complete profile flow
- A reproducible chart is not scientific evidence of predictive power; cultural interpretations support reflection only

Frequently asked questions
What is free and what remains paid?
Free output contains verifiable calculation facts only. The 13-chapter Life Book organises confirmed facts into a private cultural interpretation, annual review and action prompts, so it remains paid.
Why is there no master-reviewed badge?
No externally named adviser with publishable credentials and scope has reviewed the entire engine. XinAn publishes the real internal ownership and limitations instead of inventing an endorsement.
